Dancer's Latest -- WILL SOMEBODY EDIT THIS STUFF?
« on: November 02, 2011, 04:19:34 PM »
We're sitting here at the old Integrity Sports corral laughing at the latest Dancer article. What the hell was the point of those paragraphs? MIT grads are smart? Okay, I think the general audience kind of had that figured out. All MIT grads could be successful gamblers? Please -- if you say so, Bob.

I'm not sure what I think of the Vietnamese stuff and street smarts and, good golly, what the living hell is he talking about? Wait, I got it, it helps to be smart and have street smarts and maybe take an IQ test in your native language to show you are smart, and, and -- second thought, maybe I don't got it. Jesus, it's time to get my own radio gig....

That is a pretty lame column.

I was thinking Mr. Granoff earned a PhD in Economics from a university in California (less prestigious than Stanford, and certainly no MIT)? Maybe I am wrong about that.

Seems to me that an MIT graduate, on average, when compared to (as an example) a Strayer, Capella, or Phoenix graduate may be more intelligent.

Or not.

I prefer to think that he had a deadline to meet, and dashed off that particular column topic because something is better than nothing.

When I am in a casino, and thinking about playing blackjack, before buying in I always ask if anyone at the table went to school at MIT, because that could give me a small edge by mimicking their bet spread.

And when I play poker, I ask because if anyone has attended MIT, I'll find another table to play at, since MIT grads do make good gamblers.  I'd rather go play with a drunk Vietnamese.

Seriously.

Or not.

LOL

More important about sitting at a poker table -- ask who's from Iowa. Then, if somebody raises his/her hand, you sit your ass down, because they'll just give you their money.

If Dancer ever runs into a Vietnamese guy from Iowa, he's in real trouble.

Especially if that player is holding the 7 of Diamonds.

Ever work with electrical engineers? Book smart yes, but simple stuff...No way.

Yea, I always check for MiT people while at the poker table. As long as they are NOT named Dan Harrington, I may take some of their money.
