Hello Hello Everyone!
« on: July 08, 2012, 09:22:26 AM »
Hi y'all. Just signed in for the first time over here!!!  Little about me and my fascination with LV:
I am from Austin,Tx. and drive (only) to Vegas 2-3 times a year for a week depending on my company and the amount of fires I have to extinguish.
I love the slots but do play Blackjack and Poker AND I a currently trying to figure out Baccarat. ???
I have been going to Vegas since I was a kid when my degenerate parents would drag my brother and I to Circus Circus once a year where we would spend more in the midway than they could stuff in the slots. In 1994 I was married in the MGM theme park wedding chapel that is no more :'(
Nowadays I stay at NYNY and Bellagio but I might try Wynn or Venetian soon.
TAFN but very happy to meet everyone and Good Luck Gambling!

Welcome to the group! That's a long haul from Texas 2-3 times per year.  We have others here that play in the MGM family and are from Texas.  Glad to have you!
Best Regards,
Lolly

1200 miles and 19 1/2 hours.  Just me and my Aunt & Uncle....my wife hits SWA and I pick her up. I bought a conversion van specifically for travel to Veg--- well on all family vacations. That made the trip easy since we swap out and drive it straight through. I wake up about Kingman then it's straight to Ellis Island for a good old Vegas greasy breakfast! The drive back well that mood is determined by the win/loss ratio! :D

We bought our Sequoia for the same reason to be comfortable while vacationing.

I've had many "long trips home" and my drive is only 5 hours. Regardless, I still plan my next trip.  :)

Drove to Vegas once from San Antonio.  24 hours with stops.  The drive in wasn't so bad because it was all new.  The drive back...that was MISERABLE.  I FLY SWA!!!  :)

But more power to you!  The goal is to get there, right???

I know that deal Lolly. Good trip=next rip planning begins before the Henderson city limits!  Bad trip=next trip planning maybe about PHOENIX!
I came home up close to 10 g's with 4 hand pays last trip and heck they had to make me leave. My host was messing with my Uncle at the door when we left saying "Leave that boy here PLEASE!"

Dantex funny you say that because I drive to S.A. (Fair Oaks Ranch) and pick my Aunt and Uncle up. Their house is 1/4 mile from the I-10 on ramp and at 11:00 a.m. we break in to West Bound and Down. Love the start of each trip.

LOL, yep, you've been bitten by the same bug too. :)    Those are some nice hits you've had.  Can't wait to here the stories.

I have a mini good story from my outing yesterday at Rincon. I was there to qualify for the great race promo.  After I qualified for the great race 25 tier points. I needed to play my $35 free play.  Loaded $25. onto a   single line 8/5 BP.  Did not hit squat.  Moved to another machine and loaded on $10. that was left and got it up a little when I was dealt 3 to the royal and pulled the other two! For some reason I was floored, I never expected it.

Would you believe the machine locked up and said call attendant for $1,000. payout? I questioned that and he said it was for taxes. I said; oh did the laws change, do I get a WG for this? Answer; no WG only for $1,200. and  higher.

I had already  pulled a $5. for the tip,  before he came to the machine and he asked me if I wanted all big bills ( after our little discussion about taxes. )   I just do not see the point.

Glad to have a new member from one of my favorite restaurant cities, from back in the day of work travel. Used to love going there for steak at Sullivan's and Mexican food at Papasito's.

It creates an opportunity to collect tips.

Congratulations on the RF!

Thanks VOR, I suspect that is the case. It just seems wrong since we have the technology to skip that step.  He did after I spoke up about it, he ask if I wanted all big bills.  And, he had no way of knowing I had folded a five in my left hand. I purposely left it out of site till the end.

WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO I am full access baby! Look at me go! I look forward to some intelligent wholesome dialogue concerning the problems and challenges facing the Las Vegas and surrounding Clark County area. NOT!

That was a good hit there Lolly and I do agree that some people not the establishment will look to find any possible way to get a tip. Not just in Vegas either.
The cab stands are the irritating one for me. Anyway I have a trip report from March I never posted on the 4 hand pays trip. I will post it here instead!

Bob B....love that Sullivan's too!! Don't get to Papasitos much, but ironically enough it was the very first restaurant I ever took my wife to eat.

That's embarrassing....I am not typing out a trip report  :D

I'll tell ya'!
We left San Antonio waaayyy early and it put us at NYNY like 3am on St. Pattys drunkfest. So my Aunt & Uncle (Paul & Thelma) say they want to sleep in the van. NOT ME as I blaze into NYNY! Idiot. At 8 I came back out near dead and ready to sleep but they were up and ready to eat...off to Ellis Island. Started feeling better after that and we head back to NYNY at 9ish and play untill 11. Go to see if my suite is ready and she says we are soooo sorry but it won't be ready until 1!!!! OMG I'm gonna die. Head back to the slots. Haven't hit poo poo. I find some nice row of chairs with some unused machines to lay down on and cram another hundy in a machine. Played it down to the last dollar and BOOM goes the dynamite.

Then I went to bed. Tell you about Bellagio and the cows later.
