Say it ain't so.  That jackpot was supposed to be mine.  :(  :(

MGM Grand Las Vegas tweeted (and then deleted?) the following:

"We've waited 20 years for this! Our infamous Lion's Share machine just hit for over $2.4 million."

Bad as I feel for Kev, the real story is likely never coming out...100 million (I guess) has been lost to that machine.  Any math that comes to light about that machine's history would be very enlightening.  Good luck, anyway!

If the betting windows are open, I will definitely take the "OVER" on that 100 million number for "house advantage" alone on the Lion's Share machines.

I will say that shortly before April 1, 2013, the Lion's Share jackpot was

I KNOW this because I was the original author of that "April's Fool prank" thread and I telephoned MGM to get the exact amount a few days earlier for the sake of accuracy.

Seems that it only increased about $44,xxx.xx since about May 30, 2013 (14 months +). Not much considering the amount of "punters" taking their shot at the dream. Not much played coin in went to build that jackpot. :(

Would be very curious to see the actual numbers, and wonder if the Nevada Gaming has them on file for individual machines.

I'm not curious enough to try to find out.  ::: shrug :::

I was in a restaurant in suburban Chicago and saw a guy on the TV with the machine.....figured it had been hit.  We were recent converts to chasing the Lion.  Played it the last few trips, always making a few bucks in the exchange.  If it's gone, we'll miss it.  LOL, it's the only reason I've ever had for darkening the doorway at MGM.
