Per VitalVegas, the dealertainers are out at the Imperial Palace  Quad  Linq:

What a shame. I stopped to watch a complete and very well executed performance/imitation of Billy Joel the last time I was there and it was the best part of the casino, IMHO.

As to the decline in popularity of the pit itself, I wonder how much the detail in the third picture had to do with it? (The glaring "6/5" payout silk screened on the layout)

Maybe the entertainers have gone out of style... and just maybe corporate greed killed off yet another tradition. I have to wonder how much better that pit would have done if it offered decent games.
If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

Just call me the "quad kickers" of deuces wild and double bonus poker.

I can't believe they lasted as long as they did. Maybe the Bevertainers at the Rio will be next. Another concept I can't believe last so long.

The Linq forgot who kept them open during the bad times, the older folks who liked the dealertainers. Their tables were always full and a crowd for the shows.  The younger crowd wants the cooler places to stay not there.

It wasn't the dealertainers that kept the place going. It was the "older folks" that liked getting screwed royally with 6-5 blackjack!!

Seriously though, it appears that they are trying to "class up" the place with the renovations and better restaurants. Dealertainers don't really seem to fit the mold with what they are trying to do there.

Either way, the IP/Quad/LInq has taken out a people pleaser.  Sad to see them go last year hubby and I talked about how close  to the door they had moved them.  We said it was just a matter of time before they were out the door.

Face it, the IP was a dump and there is no other way to put it.  It was cheap mid strip and affordable.  If you overlooked some of the bad things a good time could be had by the patrons.  The Linq is now going to be less affordable, newly remodeled and geared to the younger set.  The older folks that gambled and kept the place going is being shown the door.   Very sad.

So just say one of the Downtown Casinos could pick up the Dealertainers.....  Which Downtown Casino would be the best fit?  I'd go with the Plaza...and have them deal a continuous shuffle 3/2 game with good rules.

Two things about the Plaza....they're not afraid to try new stuff....and they need to do something new.

The Plaza is already starting to look run-down again, so yeah, it'd be a good fit, just like the old Imperial Palace.

They should have kept the bikini clad hair cut place, Anthony Cools Swingers Club with the horrible 9 hole mini-golf/dueling pianos and Firefly.  Dealertainers would have been icing on the cake.  Now they'd be the cake.

Ellis Island has the Dealertainers there.  Saw a pic of the good Elvis there.  No shows but they still deal BJ.  What a shame their shows were excellent for being free.

His name is Gary. He dealt me my first losing BJ session ever at EI, although it was only $90 and $70 was lost on only two hands. Both were with good counts. The first lost because I got a crappy card, the second was 10 v 8. I got my 10 but Gary turned over a 2 and pulled a #$% ace. That's how it goes.

He's a nice guy. He currently performs in the EI Karaoke bar every Friday and Saturday at 5pm.  I haven't caught his show, yet, but he'll probably needle me if I don't get over there to see it before playing at his table again. :D

Even more than now and then, sometimes.  :propeller:

On the other hand, over the next two visits, I won back the $90 + $35 more, in addition to two free slices of pizza, 5 free root beers, and an 8oz top sirloin steak dinner which included a crappy salad, a nice baked potato and sauteed string beans for $5.99... :) and a glance of a picture of a partridge in a pear tree.
Works for me.
