Spoiler alert!  I wasn't caught up yet.  :(  Oh well.  I'm sure there's still some great reading ahead for me.

;D Thanks, that's who I was thinking of. They're both very engaging writers, and savvy gamblers .

Flusher's scrounge trip presented an interesting challenge of finding playable games at budget denominations. I try to be aware of all the options at the casinos I frequent, and even the Vegas locals casinos can be wastelands below the quarter level.

I smiled when Flusher played only a few lines on the 50-play machines. It looks ridiculous, but gets the job done.

I admit I shuddered at the airport Triple Double Bonus ... because I dislike crazy variance games. I squinted to avoid being startled by the pay schedule, and my vision registered the payouts as "B" for a full house, and "S" for a flush. That's probably inferior to the 9/7 full-pay version, but my VP software doesn't accept letters when calculating the return, so hopefully I'll never know.

Yes indeed, thanks Flusher for the great ride with you. And here's hoping for that next royal.

It's probably 95% or 96%.

But for 7 minutes of play, does it really matter? It was either hit a home run or nothing.

Aces kicker would have been nice.

Sorry, it was an involuntary reaction. I support the idea that sometimes it's ok to disregard EV and do something whimsical.

For example, I sometimes select one notch below the fastest speed setting on the FPDW machines. #YOLO

:what: NO! Say it isn't so!!  :rotf:

If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

Just call me the "quad kickers" of deuces wild and double bonus poker.

;D My speed selection has a hidden benefit. By acclimating to a slower pace, I'm able to play at Sam's Town without losing my mind.

Touché. It does drive me nuts. FYI, 1208 is slightly faster than 1217, but shhhh. Keep that to yourself.  :P
