Time to invest in that Flask manufacturing company I've had my eye on.

Disappointing.  In fact, I like this one even less than the voucher system being used at other casinos.  There, once you "earn" a drink it's yours.  With CET, if you stop playing for a minute, you get the red light, even if you had played a lot before then and hadn't requested a drink.

I can't see why anyone would be evenly mildly surprised.  We are talking about Harrah's aren't we?  MGM with paid parking was somewhat  surprising, Harrah's doesn't know how to respect their own customers....no surprise to me.  In fact, I would think it should be expected.

Wonder how they'll monitor and treat table game players.

This one will never effect me -- I don't play bar top machines and I hardly drink anyway, so I don't care, as far as that goes. However, I do care that this is just another way to raise the price, so to speak, in Vegas.

Maybe if they'd left it a gambling town instead of a club and foodie town they would still be rolling in the dough and not have to worry so much about all this nickel and dime crap.

I don't want to worry about fulfilling whatever the requirements are to get my next free drink.  If someone comes up to me to chat, I am not going to just keep playing, that is rude.  So I stop playing for four minutes to say hi and whoops " no comped drinks for you".  I just don't want to have to worry about this BS.

Good Point Bonnie.

Also factor in that right NOW it's only "4-5 hands", but the way they've been operating over the past few years suggests that it won't stay that way and it will get harder and harder to "earn" that drink.  I wouldn't be surprised to find a 2 tier system at some point where slow or low credit players only earn a discount and to get a free drink you need to be playing dollars or 800 HPH.

(I wouldn't even post that on other boards lest I give some bean counter an idea, but figured it was probably safe here.  If not, and they start that soon, ya'll are welcome to pummel me.  (virtually of course))

Now I have to remove EAV (Expected Alcohol Value) from my slow play pay table calculations.

This was one of the links in the article to an older post, but I thought I'd post it.

http://vitalvegas.com/three-surprising-things-that-will-change-way-you-las-vegas/

In a nutshell:
1. Paid parking (skip it)
2. skinny pours (AKA, "No wonder I don't get as used as I drunk to.")
3. surge pricing at restaurants (Now this just SUCKS.)
If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

Just call me the "quad kickers" of deuces wild and double bonus poker.

This is the first I've heard of this, but it makes perfect sense.  I can envision it started something like this...

Beancounter walking through the casino with a flunky one evening: "Look at the huge lines at the restaurants!  All those people in line just waiting for hours are not helping our bottom line."

Flunky;"Would you like me to start looking into expanding or adding eating establishments?"

Beancounter: "No, we'll just raise the rates at busy times so the people waiting can still be producing income".

How about a mirror on a magnetic stand that you would stick on the edge of your machine that would show you when you have a Red or Green Light.   Even if you weren't ready for a drink and  the light was Green, order it and pour it into a to go container of some sort.   Drinks in the room later on.

I'll patent that device as the "Gambler's Alcohol Mirror By Lampshade Enterprises".  :P  Thanks for the idea!  :)
