The wind is so bad here today, they closed the schools.  Because this is the rainy season and all the snow just melted, the ground is very wet and there are trees down everywhere and power outages all across the state.

Ah, to be a kid again and be happy when the weather is bad because there's no school.
If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

Just call me the "quad kickers" of deuces wild and double bonus poker.

I was out at LVMS Thursday afternoon to get set up for working the NHRA drag races. Shortly after parking the rental car behind the starting line tower, the wind blew a port-a-potty over that was about 80 feet away from the car. The wind-aided port-a-potty slid across the parking area into the rental car. It put a large dent in the rear quarter panel of the rental car, then it slid another 100 feet past the car. The "Incident Report" was more unusual than what Hertz is used to receiving when one of their rental cars is damaged!

I've experienced windy weather in Las Vegas quite a few times, but never as bad as it was a week ago.

When I got home last night, I didn't have any power.  I wake up this morning and my neighbors Pine tree is uprooted and laying across her driveway.  Luckily it didn't hit her house.

I'm glad it didn't hit your house and that everything's okay on your end.

We were traveling on the 15 toward Primm when the wind kicked in.  What a mess, there were high profile vehicles pulled over and visability was bad in places. The sand was pelting the car for miles.

We went to Laughlin staying at the Trop.  The pool had to be closed, chairs flying in the pool and across the patio.  There was so much dirt in the pool and hot tub that it took hours to clean.

Power went out at Sam's Town as well. They had to hand cash everyone out. Oddly, instead of clearing each hand pay using the jackpot reset key, they turned the machines off after paying the customers.

I presume you're saying that they did that after the power came back on, but the TITO server was offline?

Maybe they're waiting for the server to come back online so there's communication from the machine to the back office when they do the reset to help keep the numbers balanced?  Just a thought.

Basically, yes. I'm still pissed off that they managed to recover the missing tier score but not the bonus points, so I'm out over six bucks for the session. If it involves money, Boyd always seems to "accidentally" forget to correct errors in the player's favor.

I'm out over $10 in in points in the last three weeks alone.
Would it be of any help to report that to the State Gaming Agency (Authority)?

For ten bucks? No.

I contacted them with a heads up to a possible escalation when Boyd lost over $60 of my points and thousands of dollars of other people's points and then stated that nothing was missing. I had to ride the marketing person for 6 weeks. The points then suddenly reappeared with no apologies or thanks for pointing out their serious software upgrade blunder. I let the GC know that it was taken care of but the claim was ready to go; I just never had to pull the trigger.

For those who care, I always recommend having the GCB's 24 hour enforcement division number in their phone - just in case. When you hit a huge jackpot and they're refusing to pay, you won't want to have to leave the machine. Of course, if you don't have cell coverage, you'll still be in a pickle. The number is 702-486-2020.
