Hey, mickeycrimm, just saluting you and saying hi. For anyone wondering, mickeycrimm is a slot expert who appeared recently on Dancer's radio show. He travels the country checking exploitable machines and keeping an inventory of which casinos have what kinds of slots. And the dude knows his slot math.

Heard you're a pretty good AP, so I hope you'll join us. :propeller:

I play machines at Vegas locals casinos. Mostly vp, but I'm always alert for +EV reel situations, to the extent of my knowledge. I've posted here about your definitive Harley Davidson slot analysis. Unfortunately the game died out quickly here.

Welcome mickeycrimm!  So are 'exploitable' slots exclusively the ones with jackpots that must hit before a set amount or are there other advantage plays related to the 'one armed bandits'?

The "must hit" are just the tip of the iceberg. They are the most prevalent of the exploitable slots but there are a myriad of other exploitable slots.

The hareley's are disappearing everywhere.

My local (Native American) casino has them, and I've found some with high spin numbers, but I have gotten just killed on them every time I've played.

What kind of numbers are you playing? With nothing in the maxi and mega you need at least a 45 in the mini to hold a small advantage.

Good to know.  My sample size is pretty small, but I don't think the mini was ever that high.  Close a few times.  Got murdered getting to the bonus each time, though, and then bupkis in the bonus.  It's off my list.

Quoted at bottom is one of my initial comments on the game, from the "Nerding out on slots" thread. I assumed the Mega would be important because it pays 3x on the free spins, whereas the Mini only pays 1x. But I stalked a slot AP and discovered he was more interested in the Mini.

Later, Mickey posted the frequencies (on Twitter). The Mega bonus requires ~1830 spins to trigger. Mini is ~221.

So although the Mega pays bigger, the long wait interval mitigates the value.

It's a tricky design. I assume Mickey watched or played the game and noticed the "Mini" symbol appearing much more frequently on reel 5 than the "Mega." It must be a very long reel strip. I've tried analyzing YouTube videos for some games, but videos are usually only posted because something interesting happened, so you'll find mostly bonus rounds. On Harleys, bonus rounds use a different reel set.

Then he studied the Harley Davidson meters, but didn't choose the 88/30/25 on the left. Instead he played the right machine with a 37 at the bottom. Top and middle were approximately 15 and 25.

He presumably valued the mini more significantly than the mega or maxi. (Although maybe he was saving the big mega for last. ???) He played rapidly, stopping the reels instantly each spin.

I looked in again about 20 minutes later, and he had moved to the left machine, but was again targeting a bet level with a high mini. The highest mini I had seen was 35 (at the 400-bet!), but it's (unlikely but) possible another player had built it higher in the interim. I observed him advance the mini from 54 to 56. Then I looked again about 45 minutes later, and he was still playing with the mini at 94!

A slightly belated welcome mickeycrimm! We do have a small but good group of people here. I've read your posts elsewhere and am glad you've decided to join us.
If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Welcome, Mickey!  Really glad to have you here.

This is all uncharted territory for me (maybe for other people here as well), and I'm really looking forward to learning more about the opportunities out there.  Might be an interesting break from VP, and I guess it doesn't hurt to be tagged as a slots player.  Thanks for joining us!

Hi Mickey!

Nice to have you aboard.

For those who haven't bumped into Mickey on the nets, he knows how to spin a pretty good tale, and he knows how to win. I, on the other hand, know how to spin a pretty good tale and know how to win.
