PARKING DOWNTOWN
« on: May 25, 2022, 06:02:44 PM »
Since parking downtown has changed drastically I wanted to ask. I am fin cheap when it comes to parking and gambling at a plce. If they want my green they have to have free parking. I looked up parking and noticed everyone got $$ for self-parking??
I usually parked at MSS to start out and walk up to El Cortez and back. So I found this.

Main Street Station/Cal/Fremont (Boyd Properties)
Rates: Mon-Thurs $10 for up to 24 hours / Fri-Sun $20 for up to 24 hours.
Valet Parking Availability: Yes – Free

So that tells me I can Valet Park as I used to do free but if I self park I have to pay??  I noticed it was similar at other places. This makes no sense to me or maybe my brain is finally fried from Covid.

Any info please.

There will never be another Vegas, enough said.

The last time I was there MSS let sapphires park free with validation and the Cal only let emeralds and above park free. Sapphires got free parking (valdated) at the Cal with some play. I think it was 10 points but I don't remember if that was regular points (unlikely) or tier credits (more likely). YMMV.

btw, I tried validating my Cal ticket at MSS but it didn't work at the Cal exit.
If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

El Cortez parking is free for Sapphire members and up (if nothing has changed with the pandemic, you reach sapphire with a mere 3k coin in).

It’s been a couple of years, but the last time I was at the Golden Nugget, you paid for self parking, but the valet parking was free for everyone.

And, yeah, I agree that it makes no sense at all.
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown.
But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

Golden Nugget was charging for their valet on a busy weekend (hotel guests included), but I'm not sure if on a typical weekday they are or not.  They certainly didn't used to charge for valet pre-COVID, even though their garage has always required payment for non-hotel visitors.  Also, only the main valet was open on our last trip -- the Rush Tower valet was not staffed at all.
