Nice article, Bonnie.

I know if drinks weren't comped in Vegas, that would be one less reason to go.  I'd still go, but maybe less frequently.  I can play at the casino that's 10 minutes from my house and pay for drinks there -- why fly across the country to do the same?

Would you?

I'd have to say pretty bloody (mary) unlikely.

Vegas has already lost a lot of its charm with resort fees, charges to park, reductions in offers, etc.  I don't go to Vegas just to drink, but it would probably be the kick in the butt that kept me from going.  I already give them plenty of cash on a regular basis and I'm not inclined to give even more so I can play poorly and lose even more

I don't recall if this was posted here or not but this is probably what spawned that post:

The best, and easiest, way to enforce social distancing is to shower only once a month.

If you click on the highlighted things in the article one of them leads to Scott's article and he also is posting down in the Comments.

Then I'd just bring my own Bombay Sapphire Martinis in my 32 Oz. BPA free bottle.  Wait.  I already do that.

I don't think it would stop me from going to LV. I really can't drink more than a couple per day for health reasons and unless I'm staying at MSS or some other places where bartops have good beers and 9/6 Jacks, I'll typically pass on drinks.

Free drinks are nice but it hasn't been thing for me.  I just am one of those that don't drink much alcohol at any time.

I don't drink often but I have to point out that the only way this latest greedy move is going to fail is if people who do want comped drinks refuse to play at casinos that start this practice and make it known that that is why they are going elsewhere.

It's no different from 6/5 blackjack or resort fees. Griping about it means nothing; only our dollars matter. If no one plays or pays, the greedy practice stops. If everyone grumbles and ponies up, the practice(s) will be here to stay and will proliferate throughout the land.

As always, we get exactly what we deserve. The power and the choice are in our hands.

I was just sitting next to another online poster (not on this site but someone who knows a lot of folks) who was at the Main Street Station bar because the Mirage has started spitting out those pay as you go tickets for booze. It's not that she wasn't playing but that she hated the practice and so left for downtown. I was very glad to see here there and to hear that she basically told them to stuff it.

If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

Just call me the "quad kickers" of deuces wild and double bonus poker.

I don't order a drink very often so would not care. If I can make it to a diamond lounge might have a mudslide.

We do most of our drinking at meals, so it wouldn't matter that much.

Far as that Vegas feel goes, it's another nail in the coffin.

As long as I can get free water and pop, I would probably still go, though it would be just like going to the Soaring Eagle and the Saganing Eagle.

I agree.I still like the atmosphere and better weather during the winter monthes, but would definetly go less often.

I'm drinking about 5-10 Gray Goose's per day there. Seriously can't imagine what that would cost me if they weren't comped; and I don't ever want to find out.
