Dog food in Las Vegas
« on: February 24, 2023, 04:40:54 AM »
Have been going to Las Vegas for a while, and have seen a lot of interesting things.  During the early visits, there used to be good values on food, those have kind of gone away.

One general exception is a coffee shop that still may offer 'late night specials'.  While dining at such coffee shop we watched the man at the table next to this man and his dog toss a French fry to this service dog every minute or two.  The man tossing the fries waited until the dog owner was occupied with his food before tossing another fry from his Cheeseburger Special breakfast.  The man sitting with the dog, could not figure out what was going on, he noticed his dog eating, but saw no source of food.  The dog is looking at his benefactor in the picture.

There were a few entertaining dynamics at play here:

Are French fries a service dog super food?
Why does a person who would not eat food off a carpeted floor, think it's ok for a dog to eat off a carpeted floor?
Why doesn't the coffee shop promote Comped French Fries for service animals?

The questions never end, Las Vegas is always creating new experiences for visitors.

I have no issue with legitimate service animals, but I've seen a big increase in the number of dogs in casinos in Las Vegas (both with questionable service dog vests and just pets).

I would never give a dog (or any other animal, for that matter) any treat without it's owner permission.

Absolutely. Just ask the dog's owner.

To Kevin's point, I once saw a small dog sitting at one of my favorite vp machines at South Point.  I assumed the guy in the next chair was the dog's owner, or the dog was the guy's owner.  I didn't ask the dog to leave as I never would do that to a player.
