I'm not very familiar with the history. I gather the LVA proprietor is not universally beloved, and I'm aware that his free forum is somewhat embarrassing. I'll probably subscribe for the 2017 coupon book, so I'll find out if there's intelligent life remaining on the paid forums.

More broadly, would it be appropriate on this site to have a "What's happening on other forums" thread? I have trouble keeping up with everything, and I think it would help alert me to significant discussions elsewhere. I suppose the thread would necessarily include links to other sites.

I've only been a paid member there for 23 years.  The boards there were a terrific source of information for many years, not so much anymore.  in the early 2000s he repeatedly promised to update the website.....that became a standing joke.....the site would be updated in February, but it didn't happen.  That year or the next.  Then came another 'after the first of the year' promise.  Which of course didn't happen.  I chided that we just didn't know which February and got a nasty email from AC where he said he didn't appreciate my 'snarky' comments.  Then the POV, now MRB came out with a severe cut back in match plays.  Imagine this....AC, the guy who bragged about his coupon runs on tv, actually says that the casinos don't want to deal with them an neither does he!  The match plays have returned, so somebody wanted them.
The newsletter......used to be interesting and something I looked forward to reading.  No longer.  It's really a monthly rehash, with little effort put into it.

These days I go there only to stir the political pot.  I contribute nothing there and never will.  Once in a while an old timer will ask about something, and if I can help, I send a pm, but I offer no assistance to an owner that I view as an egotistical, customer service zero.  Why do I subscribe?  The coupon book.  When it goes, so will I.

This was the last email response I ever received from Anthony, after I too questioned when the "upgrade" would be completed:

Thanks for complying with my request. Maybe it's time you reevaluated
whether or not you really want to be here. Keep poking and I'll do it for
you.

Yep, customer service is dead indeed at the old LVA.

Lol, when Kevin opened this site the first thing I did was contact Noahcat to give her a heads up, and to ask her to contact Marcio, the crazy brazilian.... Marcio had also been asked to leave lva.land.  If you were asked to leave, in my view, you had value.  You cared enough to tell His Arrogance what needed improvement.  That never interested A C.

He offered me my money back in November after I had taken our last trip of that year.  I assured him that he hadn't lost me as a subscriber but that he had lost me as a contributor.  As long as I can cover the costs with coupons I'll subscribe.  And the only way that happens is if the match plays are worthwhile.

I'm betting there are several other contributors here who were asked to leave the lva.  Me?  I've been thrown out of better places than lva.

I got scolded by Tanya for cursing out some guy who posted about 368853116890632 times that I am a whore.  I asked her if she was seriously threatening to ban me. She said she needed to be fair and that she couldn't ban him for calling me a whore over several pages of nonstop whore calling, and not ban me for calling him names back. I told her that this was ridiculous and said I would never post again. He got a warning as well, kept calling me a whore, changed his signature to me being a whore, and began calling some other women whores before being banned.

That's whoreible.  (Sorry, it's my pun gene. Runs in the family.)

But seriously, it really is completely inappropriate. Basically, you're saying that they ban people for the smallest slight against the site or A.C. but allow sexist liable and bullying of other members until it's out of control. I've never actually purchased an MRB and the more I read here, the less likely I am to do so. There may be profit to be had from the gambling coupons but purchasing the book supports the site and Mr. C.

They do make a profit on the sales.
