Hello from Colorado!

Hi all!! Name's Julio here!
New user here (well kind of) I linked to this board from another Vegas board, and thought I would join here as well!

I will be making a 3rd trip to Vegas next month, which will mark my 2nd trip since turning 21 (well that was back in 08, and the first post-21st trip was delayed until las August LOL).  I went back in 03' when I was 16 so there really wasn't much to do at that time for someone my age, but since having turned 21 there is SO much more to do.  I went for a week back in August of 2010 and I fear that was the bug that bit me, as I have been itching to go back ever since.  It is now 22 days and counting till I'm back in the city of wonderment! LOL

I will be heading out there with my cousin and we will be staying at PH Towers as he does have a timeshare there through them. Like last August we will be staying there for a week.
This trip I hope to see and experience things that I was unable to on my last trip, so far a small list of things to do is as follows:

shows(some maybe all if lucky):
KA
O
La Reve
Love
Peepshow
Mystere

Shopping:
Outlets both North and South, Town Square, Miracle Mile, Fashion Show, Crystals (for my LV treat haha)

Eating:
Hoping to try Buffet at Cosmo, Craft Steak, Paris Buffet among other places as well.

Gambling:
Mostly slots for me, maybe some VP inbetween here and there, would like to try a table game or 2 for the first time, but we'll see.

Sights/fun/etc:
Top of the Eifle tower day/night
Top of Stratosphere
Zipline in freemont
Bellagio fountains/conservatory
plus much more I hope

Clubs:
Would like to head to a few thats for sure, not sure which ones any suggestions?

Any other ideas, suggestinons or questions are always welcomed!

I plan to do the zipline on Fremont Street on my upcoming trip -- it looks like fun!

It sounds like you already have a lot of plans for your trip, and they all sound good!  Will you guys have a rental car?  If so, I suggest checking out M Resort or Red Rock Resort -- they're both on the outskirts of town (one south, one west), but they're really nice places with big casino floors and plenty of dining options.

I'm not a huge club person, but a couple of friends of mine went to Studio 54 a few trips back and had a great time.  Hopefully someone else here will have some more suggestions for you.

Did you see the post about the discounted Cirque tickets?  It's worth checking into for your upcoming trip, with seats starting at $55.

Welcome Crisis! The Vegas bug bit me on my 21st birthday. lol

My parents brought me out for my 21st, and within a year of that, I took my 4th trip to Vegas. Since then, I've averaged twice a year for the last 5 years.

Even though I can gamble at several places within an hour of my house, there's nothing quite like Vegas!

Also, I second what Kevin (knagl) says, particularly about M Resort. I have gambled there and eaten their buffet, and I have to say, it is one of the best buffets I have ever eaten.

I will be staying there for the last two nights of my trip in two weeks!

Nice!  Have you stayed there before, Brent?  We've been there three times now and love the place.  We would have been there again this trip, but the dates that we wanted weren't available, and then the Golden Nugget came through with a better offer so we booked there instead.

Kevin - I haven't stayed there before. Not quite sure what to expect 100%... Also not sure whether we're going to "stay in" when we're at the M, or if we'll still travel around and do other things.

One thing I expect of this trip, for sure, is to do a lot more of the "non-gambling" Vegas things. In the past, my trips to Vegas have been 90% gambling with 10% "other," and as I have gone to Vegas more and more, the "other" is starting to appeal to me more and more.

Not quite sure what to expect 100%...

Here was one of our rooms from a previous visit (save for the last few pictures with the green walls -- that's the El Cortez Cabana Suites).

Even though we had a car, I think we spent a fair amount of time playing at M -- we love the atmosphere, and the floor is (as you know) huge with a big variety of games.

Yeah, the floor is awesome, and (knock on wood!) I've had relatively good luck at M. I do love their slot floor. Just hoping it can keep me amused for 2.5 days

I believe we are indeed getting a rental car, just waiting on my cousin to book it, since I am under 25 and don't want to pay the extra 20 each day for being under 25, so just waiting on him to book it.

I looked into the tickets for Cirque and am very interested in getting the cheap tickets for LOVE since we both have seen it separate times, and def would like to see it again.  Bummed 'O' is not included in the summer of Cirque, but they do have a 20% off promo on their site, BUT the seats I keep getting are all like front row which I've heard from many is not the place you want to be for a cirque show especially one like 'O' so we'll see what happens on that one.

Another question for anyone here, has anyone been to peepshow?  What would be the best seats for that show?

Well see I would have def made it out there for my 21st as that was supposed to be my gift from my parents; the trip to Vegas.  It came a lil over 2 years late, but they did take me out there last August, and I canNOT wait till I'm out there again in about a lil less than 3 weeks now.

My next goal is to make it out there for Xmas time, I've seen pics of all the beautiful decorations and them going all out for the holiday and it's just a time of year I would LOVE to see in Vegas style, though I kind of can't decide if I want to do the Xmas time, or the Chinese New Year time....decisions!! LOL

Have your cousin start booking a car now directly with a rental company (and don't use the "pre-paid" option) -- he can cancel it and re-book it as many times as needed as prices go down, but it's a good strategy to book as soon as you have an idea of your dates since you can cancel it with no penalty.  That way you at least lock in a rate in case rates go up later.

Vegas around Christmas is great.  Not every casino goes all out, but a few of them do (Bellagio comes to mind immediately).  Not to mention, the weather is great compared to my December (in Minnesota -- brr!), and the crowds are usually a little thinner which is a plus in my book.  We generally go around the second week of December, which is also generally a great time to get a cheap or free room.

I have been out in late November/early December, but the casinos didn't have too much Christmas stuff up-and-ready yet. The only thing that comes to mind was the "Parade in the Sky" thing at the Rio. They had some of the "floats" decorated as sleds, etc., and they did a stage show in that same area that was Christmas-themed. I also intend to get out there around Christmas sometime.

Like Kevin said, the hotels are basically yours for the taking, as that is one of the slowest times of the year in Vegas.

Before I go there around Christmas, though, I want to get there in every single month of the year. I'm missing the dreaded months mainly: July, August, September.... lol

It's totally up to him, I've said my words to him about wanting to rent the car and my explanations for why we need one, so It's really up to him now to get the car.

I know there is always the big rodeo/bull riding around sometime in December, so I def want to avaoid that too when I plan to head out there for xmas time.

August is pretty much a torture month heat wise....yeesh!!
It was also kind of busy last August when we went, but I think the worst thing was def the heat! LOL
