That was a good one.

That would be some scary water bills. But I do not know how big her yard is. The one that paid up to $800 a month. That would be what around 170,000 gallons a month that is insane to start with. What about more average users? Still there is without a doubt a shortage. Our rate with lake Michigan water is $1.64/1,000 with no increase in the rate with extra usage I have seen. As a single person the last 3 months I used just 4,000. That is with a fair amount of plant watering.

It is good for some using a lot let them pay that 4.58 or more. Then maybe they will get it.

Terry

Edited to add we must have a minimum for water. This 3 months with more watering used 2,000 more but same charge of $24.42.

I need to find a water bill to see what we're paying here in the land of 10,000 lakes...

I have exceeded the minimum once in 8 years, due to a faulty toilet valve.

Of course, being the "frugal" person I am, I also tend to try to help others save by offering some the opportunity to shower with me.

:)

My electric usage is an entirely different matter.  ::: ugly :::

Water is billed quarterly and it's usually about $75 for two people. NO clue on the number of gallons we use...

Our water used to be cheaper. The city needed some federal money to pay for a few upgrades and they were not charging enough. So now our bills are twice what they used to be plus we are paying levies for upgrades.

They are going to have to do something in Vegas eventually. The water is running out.
