Just introducing myself. 
I am good friends with Bigfus who recommended this site. 
I live near Albany NY and am retired.

I am an active Vegas enthusiast, and fairly active on a few discussion boards.  My interests include Resort Fees (see my published article  in the 2011 American Casino Guide,)  live low limit poker, some DB 10/7 or JOB 9/6 video poker, and all things frugal.
I go to Vegas about twice a year for about 17 days each trip and generally travel solo. 
I keep my trip reports in small organized snippets in my Vegas Adventures blog:

I was on LVA, but the last few years have not bought the coupon book.
Also, I got annoyed that their newsletter evaluated and ranked nightly hotel rates but ignored resort fees in the reporting. 

Next trip is May 3.

Seems like a fine board.  Thanks for all the greetings.  I see in the postings many names I recognize from other years and I'll enjoy reading them again.  Certainly there is a wealth of information here. Thanks, Bigfus, for the heads up. 
I'm off tomorrow for a long, slow ride to Florida for a couple months of swimming with Manatee.
I'll certainly get to the Tampa Hardrock at some point and to the live poker room at Tampa Downs, but I do less gambling there than at home.

You'll be happy to know it's 70 degrees here in Tampa right now with a slight breeze and a big orange beach ball in the sky.

Unless you're playing recreationally, forget the Tampa Hard Rock....you'll get nothing and wonder why they employ casino hosts.....Harrahs host have more discretion than this lot. Nice property and a good restaurant but the gaming is mediocre. I'll concede that my info is dated by a year so if things have changed/improved, I trust other local posters will correct me.

I play low limit live poker there, so it depends on who plays when.  I don't play slots or VP there at all.  Nice Buffet. 

The name Dewey is after my dad who was named just after Admiral Dewey sunk the Spanish fleet in Manilla.  My goal is to play poker just as the old Admiral played war.
