Welcome here!  But are you spending a lot of time at the Free-For-All Forum?  I rarely go over to that section of the Message Boards, I find the paid forums there much better (kinder and gentler) and that they deal a lot more with Las Vegas related topics.  So if you haven't checked that out, please do!

Welcome. I didn't renew LVA this year, and haven't signed on for the free forums there. The forums were dead and I get better value from 2 American Casino Guides that their coupon book.

Thank you for the warm welcome!  I was just getting tired of the political fights.  I too have my own personal views, but respect other views as well.  Its unfortunate that the same fights can be attributed to the same members.  For the most part, Las Vegas was not a favorite topic on the Free For All side while on the paid side, new topics were far and few apart.  It's too bad as Anthony Curtis and staff try to do their best, but the Internet provides so much more information.

Welcome.  I agree with you 100%. I went back just to read the forum and it is mostly filled with assholes arguing politics.  There are tons of forums devoted to politics.  You have to wonder.  Again welcome and hope you enjoy it here.

That is the main reason why I just avoid dealing with the Free For All Forum.  The paid forums do not deal with that garbage.  I will look at some of the stuff at FFA in case there is some good information there, but I almost never post anything there.

One of the reasons that I think that there is less info about Las Vegas in the forums is that people are probably going there at least somewhat less than previously because of the bad economy as well as people may have less disposable income than they previously had.

Rec that is all true. Unfortunately most of the posts at the LVA are in the FFA section.  Very little useful information exists there now.  If you were to write anything good in the gambling section it would be frowned upon because people said pit bosses read this forum why tell them your tips.  I gave up on the place finally when the forums ran like molasses in January.  Anyways Kevin is an excellent host.  I would not mind either paying a nominal fee or having ads run on the site to help Kevin pay for the site. I do appreciate all his efforts.

Yes discretionary spending still is low in many parts of the country. But despite that I never had so many low cost trips to Vegas since they came out with Myvegas game on FB. Our third trip is coming up within 12 months as it is too juicy to pass up.  This trip we are doing 3 nights at Aria with the 2 free nights at Cosmo. Just the Aria nights I can thank Mevegas. Many people got the offer of the Cosmo.  Plus we get so much free food with the game. My wife has an account and so do I.

Its nice to see some of the old posters from LVA.  I enjoyed reading Mare and KarenTN's trip report.  i'm happy to see Sionow as I look forward to his summer road trips.  Sadly all the bullying and bashing on LVA made me not want to post.  Well not to dwell on the negative.  Here's to good karma for all of us so we can all hit Megabucks on our next trip.

The only thing I miss on the FFA side is Bagiant's exploits with "Star". LVA had it's own little soap opera going.

i stopped renewing because of the bullshit on the PAID side.  between the boards not loading and the extreme lack of new posts, i certainly wasnt going to deal with assholes on top of it. 

i stopped posting on the free side when tanya threatened to ban me for defending myself against someone who called me a whore approximately 890234723897238974238947238947238 times.

LOL, if this board was to lose all the members that came 'from that other board', this would be one pretty lonely site!  The next member here will be number 600.......and God herself only knows how many came from 'over there'.
