I am open to all advice. I plan to ace this vp demon.

LVFritz, knagl and Tonystewartrules have all offered you advice worth following.  Nice guys.

Nice example Kevin.  Couldn't do better myself!

Another hint for our newbie.......check the payout for the full house and the flush.  Notice that the one coin payout for the first one on the full house is 9 and the one coin payout on the flush is 6.  That means that this is a 9/6 JoB game.  And the second example is.........   ???

BTW, you are likely driving right past Majestic Star casino (who offers 9/6 JoB) to get to Blue Chip (who doesn't offer as good a game).

Get yourself a copy of the American Casino Guide very quickly.......you really need to read the chapter on vp.

Wishing you luck grasshopper.

Also, if your playing and don't know the pay table, then you are playing incorrectly.  Poorly played VP returns no better than slots.  The pay tables matter and determine HOW you play.

I am so grateful for all the advice. And I will heed it. I am at a lose for names. Kevin posted the pictures. LVFritz, you are a God (or Goddess) as well. The pictures were so helpful. And LVFritz, you put it in words. Now I know what to look for. I am going tomorrow to "practice". Wish me luck!!!!

Very kind of you to say.

I enjoy teaching about topics that interest me.  Computer geeky stuff (like this board), and gambling interest me.  I was explaining video poker paytables to a newbie gambler co-worker for about an hour the other day, complete with payback percentage stuff and volatility.  :)

Kevin, there is a market for those who can teach electronically,  since it's the new way of the world. A lot of
master degree programs are done via internet depending on your major.  I would imagine if  you had the credentials,  with your skills,   beable to pick up part-time work or set yourself up to subsidise  a retirement fund.
Best Regards,
Lolly

Sometimes you get used to knowing how all this goes. I still talk to people who have no idea how the pay tables on VP games are adjusted. They say they would have not even know there could be 10/7 DB or a 9/5 DB. Glad to help them out. Some of us like me have been playing VP a long time. I have played basically all VP for 14 years. Before that a real mixture of slots, VP and table games. And I am glad for all the help I received through the years.

I wish I had the time, Lolly.  I'm subsidizing my retirement fund by working about 55 hours a week.  Of course, my day job isn't exactly hard work (hence the reason I'm on here during the day!).
