Thanks for sharing.  My official review is "meh".

I stayed at the Las Vegas Club last month.  There are lots more details in my report, but to make a very long story short...

a) the room was fine, but...
b) they were down to one elevator, which was as bad as you think it might have been.

The $20 trick will probably work to get you in the better tower, but the same bill would buy two more nights here or another night somewhere else.  You make the call.

P.S.  No Fridays or Saturdays; those are more expensive.

As I was taking a late evening flight, I had a room at VC just to have a place to shower before heading to the Airport. I've paid $20 and received $20 in free play and I considered the net price fair 

In April, 6th, they have only one elevator working as well. The room had new carpet and new wall paper, the air conditioning was working and was as silent as it gets, but the smell of insecticide was unbearable. It sure beats a bunk bed in a hostel or in a shelter.
