New member from So Cal
« on: October 28, 2011, 03:39:40 AM »
Hello!  I just found out about this site.  I am a member of a few other boards but I'm particularly active on only one of them.  I recognize a few names here but I'm not using the same screen name this time.  I look forward to being able to see all the forums.

Thank you for the kind welcome, Lolly.  I'm from La Mesa, a suburb of San Diego.

If I have the location right, your nearest Barona Casino.  I have not been there in years but really liked Barona.  We were downtown San Diego over the summer, went to a Padras game,  stayed at the Hard Rock and had a blast.  Very fun area.
Best Regards,
Lolly

I"m about 20 miles from Barona, also Viejas and Sycuan.  Harrah's Rincon is about an hour away.  I play mostly at Barona.  I'm not a huge fan of Viejas--even the outlet center that's attached is kind of disappointing--and I haven't been to Sycuan in about 15 years, although my friend tells me that they've just done a big remodel and it's very nice.   San Diego is a nice place but, as a local, I don't get around to doing  a lot of the stuff downtown.  You get into a rut and take it for granted when you live here.

We are huge concert goers &  I always wondered how the concerts in the park were at Viejas. They always seem to have good headliners.  But, so does Pechanga and Rincon and it's much closer!

I know what you mean taking for granted where you live.  Living in Huntington Beach for 40 years, we never go the beach anymore, since the kids grew up.  When they were kids we'd buy an annual pass to park we were there so  much.

I have a LVA Barona 2-1 Buffet coupon for the taking.  You can private message me above with your address if you want it.
Best Regards,
Lolly

Honestly, I've never been to a concert at Viejas.  It's kind of an open area there--not a venue like Rincon has.   I think Viejas underwrites a lot of the concerts for Humphrey's By the Bay but I could be wrong.  I appreciate the offer on the buffet but I'm Platinum so I'm at a 50% discount anyway and, for as often as I eat there (maybe 3 times a year), I just go to the player's club booth and ask for a comp and they give it to me!
