Booked Airfare for the Fall trip
« on: May 13, 2013, 08:30:19 AM »
I am excited! Booking airfare is always a thrill...for me, anyhow. ;D

Spirit Air has some great prices for Detroit to LV.
$205 for the airfare and $60 for the luggage.
$265 is a pretty awesome price in my opinion.
I booked Oct 28 to Nov 6.
Going to do Halloween downtown again!

Excellent!  I have a trip (hopefully) next month and I still don't have my airfare booked!  I saw some Spirit fares from Minneapolis for $108 RT in September -- that was tempting...

Hey we will be there too from November 2-8. Spirit from here in Dallas is still not a bargain and scares the crap out of me some of the stories I here. They were on the news recently when they wouldn't let some passengers board that had not checked in 45 minutes early.

People diss Spirit but I have flown them a bazillion times and never had an issue.
Maybe I have been lucky.
I go in knowing what to expect.  It is no frills..so I bring my own snacks and entertainment.

I am just happy they still have reasonable prices!

I too am a fan of Spirit Airlines.  I flew RT from Minneapolis to Las Vegas last month for just $59.80..that included all taxes and fees.  I packed light and put my back pack under the seat, so I didn't have a baggage charge.  The cab ride from the airport to downtown with tip cost me $28...almost as much as the one-way fare!!

Sounds like a great deal for those who can use it, in spite of Spirit's recent panning by Consumer Reports.

I can't use Spirit because I always take my knees on trips.

I got real lucky last week.
Grabbed a $257 fare out of ATL for our annual trip to NFR.
Best fare I've seen in a very long time---

Booked my flight with Spirit---$165 + $60 baggage fee = $215 RT from MSP.  Comped 4 nights at the Rio and one night at the Golden Gate.  This will be my second Vegas Halloween trip....Oct 28 thru Nov 2.

A friend just booked a RT ticket from MSP to LAS in mid-November for $195 on Spirit.  Their flight times aren't always great (lots of redeye flights), but the price is sure right.  Sun Country and the others keep increasing their fares to the point that I'm looking at alternatives...
