Hello from the peach state!
« on: December 24, 2013, 03:56:51 PM »
Hello everyone!  My name is Robert.....I'm from a little town called Talking Rock, GA.

I enjoy Vegas and everything about it (despite having only been once back in April 2011)!

I'm a huge Nascar fan (my username is a Nascar reference....you could say it's dated because the reference is from around '06/'07).  I love game shows.  I also love to do some gambling when I have the spare dough to safely do so.  Unfortunately, we have no casinos in GA (just the GA Lottery)....the nearest one to me is Harrah's Cherokee in Cherokee, NC....about a 2 and a 1/2 hour drive from my house.

I enjoy blackjack, craps, and Pai Gow poker.  I do like to play a little baccarat as well if the min bets are decently cheap.  I do enjoy playing poker as well (my favorite game is an unusual one......2-7 triple draw).  I used to play online poker years ago until the UIEGA (I think that's the acronym) got passed and started getting enforced.....won 10 online multi-table tournaments (not the single-table sit and go tournaments, either -- a couple of my wins had near if not more than 1000+ players) in my career in a variety of games from Hold 'Em to Omaha and including one 10-game mixed event win.  (I had bailed out of online poker well before the "Black Friday" where all US access to the online poker sites were cut off along with the rest of the things that happened from there.....)

Hope to check out some nice stuff and enjoy some nice conversations with everyone here!  Have a nice day!  Merry Christmas (or if you don't observe Christmas, may you have a very SAFE and happy holiday season regardless of what you celebrate)! :)

Welcome!  I think that cheap Baccarat (at least Mini-Baccarat) can be found at El Cortez Casino in Downtown LV where the minimum bet is $5.  Some of the Blackjack is decent there as well.

Hi Robert, can we assume you are close to the Coca-Cola bottling plant in Atlanta?

Unfortunately I never got to downtown Vegas when I was there my one time (I only got the northern half of the strip covered....from Harrah's up to the Stratosphere, and then down the other side to the Cosmopolitan (skipping Bellagio due to time constraints).  If I have time the next time I go (and after covering the rest of the strip including the Bellagio), I'd like to hit up downtown Vegas and perhaps some of the off strip properties.  I managed to find some $10-$15 mini-baccarat when I was there.  Sadly, Harrah's Cherokee, my nearest casino, has $50 minimums on their mini-baccarat (the 1st time I went up there after they got the real cards and real dice, there was one $25 min table...but that was the only time I saw it at $25....every time afterwards was $50).

Cumming is about 30-something miles SE of where I'm at.  You'd get along very well with most of my family....lots of Dale Jr. fans in my family. :)

I'm about 60-something miles north of Atlanta.  I'm up in the mountains of north GA. :)
