Do you work for The Plaza?  Because I have stayed there before, and I can't think of 3 things I liked about it.  Just saying.

No..I don't work for the Plaza, or Scott Roeben or anybody else.
I just review things based on my experiences and
I go in with appropriate expectations.

If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

Just call me the "quad kickers" of deuces wild and double bonus poker.

It's been a long time since I stayed at the Plaza.May have to give them another try now.Sounds like the restaurant line up is pretty good.I used to like seeing the old Rat Pack show there.

I saw that show there twice too...it was the perfect room for them. So old school.
I think they are at the Tuscany now.....

Thanks for posting this, Ma'am (don't know your name, sorry, and "Blondie" didn't sound polite).  We're relative Vegas newcomers, been serious only since around 2006, MSS was the first place we started getting comp rooms, and the Plaza was our second.  Haven't been in a while, they started pulling the better games and we went elsewhere; hated to see them not keeping the place up after the big renovation and the Fontainebleau furniture.  But it does seem like they're trying, maybe we'll give them another shot sometime.

If I had to list my personal Top 10 Reasons, #1 would be the nostalgia value.  Even at its worst, I always felt like an archaeologist looking around the joint, you can still see vestiges of what was the coolest new place in town in 1971.  The beveled mirrors alongside the escalator, the huge 3rd floor lobby, the port cochere.  Still some "Union Plaza" signage here and there.  It's the coolest!

My name is Bonnie.

I agree. I really enjoy a place with some history to it!

Me too! I don't play there much because their games aren't really worthwhile for me but it's a cool place if there isn't too much smoke. The port cochere is classic old-school Vegas!

Main Street Station is a better fit in my case but aside from the gambling, I also like it for it's old world feel and all of the cool items and decor. The buffet area looks like it could have been a large dance hall in bygone days, although it wasn't.

Agree about limited options at the Plaza, Stat, although hopefully Bonnie is right and they'll continue to try harder to attract skilled players (much like DTG seems to be doing).

As for nostalgia, we're very attached to MSS and love the look.  MSS is a 1990s casino trying to look like 1890s, while Plaza is a 1970s casino trying to not look like 1970s.
