El Cortez has Ultimate x video poker with a wheel.

You only get to spin on just full houses. It is also only available with 5 hands played, not 3.

Looks like that's "Ultimate X Wheel Poker".  It's on VideoPoker.com, but right now restricted to "Gold" members only.

If they have deuces versions too those trigger the wheel when you get a straight flush.

The wheel has 4 coin awards, from 250 - 2,000 but they rarely hit.  The rest are multipliers from 14x to 20x.  They rarely hit anything either LOL.

It's still fun, and once in a while you'll get something like a 15X with a quad.

They do hit coin about 1:15-20 spins and while they have a base multiplier of 14x and an average around 17x-18x over the traditional 12x, they cost another coin per line and the wheel can't be avoided with a max bet. IOW, there is no 50 coin bet for 5 play: it must be 55 coins.

They are attempting to turn vp into a slot machine so that people can't determine the payback percentage. Without the wheel breakdown an analysis is impossible. I made the mistake of playing it one time and Thermo and online discussion caused me to take a closer look at it.

In short, it's a bad deal. They offer more for straights and/or flushes (depends on whether you play 3 or 5 lines) but when things like that are done it's only because the wheel takes so much away that they felt the need to add some back into the regular paytable.

Not recommended.

it let me play less than 55 coins BUT the multiplier I had was greyed out, it only applies if you play full coin.

Yes, you can bet four coins per line but then you're shorting yourself on the royal and no longer playing Ultimate X.

I’m always amazed at the number of ploppies who play the specialty / carnival games at less then max bet. Who bets one or two coins on a game with bonus payments for max? Always irritates me to no end when someone is on the only Quick Quad machine playing less coins!!

Now that one really pisses me off, too. Go away and play something else instead of hogging a cool game with limited availability that you don't even want to play.

I was trying to play five per line because I reached my cash out point and wanted to grab my earned multiplier.

Nice try, but I believe everything in the Ultimate X family -- except the original -- requires max bet to access multipliers.

The rigged wheel (and associated lack of disclosure) is ridiculous imo, but that's how it goes with casino games. There's a popular slot called Buffalo Grand with five progressives ranging from $10 to 10k, each with one wedge on the bonus spin wheel so they all appear to have equal probabilities. And not sure, but I think the wheel is further rigged to stop frequently at the adjacent wedges before or after the Grand. And afaik this is considered normal and reasonable game design.

They had this as the game of the day a few days ago.  I usually don't do very well, but I managed 7th place with this:

It's kind of a head scratcher when you look at it, but what happened was I hit the wheel for 2K.  That multiplied with the 20X from the previous hand, (the one that shows a 900 coin win).

So this game has the potential for some huge wins.  They just don't happen very often of course.
