I'm sure GoDaddy DID send out multiple warning emails.

But you're asking LVA to admit that there are some email addresses that aren't monitored. Do you really expect them to admit that?
Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown.
But how much does it cost to knock on wood?

GoDaddy sends out dozens of e-mails before a domain expires, and they also send out e-mails if your credit card on file is expired.  They can try and pass the blame all they want, but they screwed up.  I would have had more respect for them if they didn't try and pass the buck.

Maybe just confusion over the credit card and email address, if they forgot to check their email. Did it go to Anthony Curtis, Kurt Flowers, or Martin Strong's?

:)

That was good, Road Trip. One of the drawbacks of using too many AKAs.

Nice thread!  I thought I was the only one annoyed by all the LVA forum issues!   I remember one post in particular there when Anthony was defending the time it was taking for the new message board to be rolled out and said, "well we have the holidays coming up, so it won't be live until after that".  Of course, that was said just about a year ago!

Welcome to the site, zignerlv.  :welcome:

There's an ongoing "February" joke, as AC promised that their site would be fixed by "February" a number of years ago now.  The joke is that he didn't specify which February he was talking about.  Fingers crossed for 2014!  :P  :P  :P

From their Today's News section:

Quote
November 17, 2013 14:21 Website Problems: Our apologies for the interruption in service this weekend -- not so long ago, we expressed some amusement when Harrah's web domain expired, wondering how that could happen in a huge company like Caesars Enterainment. Well, guess what? It can happen to anyone and we just fell victim to the same issue, due to the credit card on record having expired and apparently no one at GoDaddy seeing fit to inform us of this fact. It's taken awhile to get everthying up and running again, but all should be good now and we've just been able to post today's Question of the Day -- it's an interesting one, so check it out! And apologies to Harrah's.

Not that I like, or want to 'defend' LVA, but fair is fair.

Revisionist history? I didn't notice until now, but it looks like after 38 minutes, somebody at LVA changed the post in their Today's News:

Well, guess what? It can happen to anyone and we just fell victim to the same issue, due to the credit card on record having been reissued without the new information being forwarded for necessary domain renewals (apparently the whole LVA brand was about to go up for sale). It's taken awhile to get everthying up and running again, but all should be good now and we've just been able to post today's Question of the Day -- it's an interesting one, so check it out! Not really sure what to make of that comment about LVA being for sale. Is that supposed to be a joke? Or is that real, and part of the reason February never arrives?

I noticed that, too.  Maybe I wasn't the only one to criticize them for passing the buck.

I just think that they were saying that potentially someone could have bought their web address out from under them if they hadn't taken action.

For sure you are not the only one. On the 1st of January one year since I left. After being a member for over 12 years and receiving some not so nice personal messages from AC.
