Looks like quite a windstorm swept through Las Vegas:

Unfortunately I never lost power. I can tell because the clock on my oven is still one hour slow. A power outage would have forced me to correct it, but now I'll continue waiting until November for the problem to take care of itself.

I was out at the park when someone's newspaper lost its moorage and escaped from the residential area, forcing me to evade an airborne Review-Journal one sheet at a time. I guess karma had to happen eventually because I've said a lot of bad things about Sheldon Adelson.

There is no luggage rack on a horse.

"Crazy 70 MPH windstorm in Vegas! At downtown grand Power went out in the casino for a minute. And here's what the Picnic pool deck looks like..."

Power went out at Sam's Town as well. They had to hand cash everyone out. Oddly, instead of clearing each hand pay using the jackpot reset key, they turned the machines off after paying the customers.

When I checked at home, the player tracking system had updated my tier points correctly but the bonus points from the session were nowhere to be found. They're not there today, either so I'm out six bucks. Typical Boyd s#^t. If it screws the customers out of money, they're all over it. Tier points don't cost the casino anything, so those were adjusted. Bonus points cost money.

I almost lost my cap when I stepped outside. Fortunately, it landed in a dead zone about 20 feet away and I was able to catch up with it before it blew away completely. I got home before the real winds started. Seriously. The reports of damage started coming in about an hour after I got home. Sometimes home is the best place to be.

If you place a statistician's head in dry ice and his feet in boiling water, then on the average he is fairly comfortable but his comfort has a large variance.

Most people have more than the average number of legs.

Just call me the "quad kickers" of deuces wild and double bonus poker.

I presume you're saying that they did that after the power came back on, but the TITO server was offline?

Maybe they're waiting for the server to come back online so there's communication from the machine to the back office when they do the reset to help keep the numbers balanced?  Just a thought.

Yes, LV can get very, very windy.  Those kind of winds can set off my Sinuses!

Basically, yes. I'm still pissed off that they managed to recover the missing tier score but not the bonus points, so I'm out over six bucks for the session. If it involves money, Boyd always seems to "accidentally" forget to correct errors in the player's favor.

I'm out over $10 in in points in the last three weeks alone.

Several people here ended up flying who had no intention of doing so.

I seem to remember hearing a report of a storm in Las Vegas in the earlier 1990's where the wind was so severe (I think a gust of about 92MPH was recorded), that the top of the relatively new Marquee at Las Vegas Hilton got ripped off and then was found thrown down in a heap on the ground.

It was strong enough to blow away my bonus points for the day.

Several years ago, we were working a show in the convention center.....when the show closes, crates and empty boxes are stored in trailers have to come back into the hall and get to vendors booths.  In Vegas, when there are high winds, the large overhead doors are not opened.  We were told that they want no part of the sand carried by high winds coming into the halls.  It's tough having to spend an extra night at a show site but somebody had to do it.  Poor me.

The wind is so bad here today, they closed the schools.  Because this is the rainy season and all the snow just melted, the ground is very wet and there are trees down everywhere and power outages all across the state.
