Unbelievable! LVA Virus rides again!

This last weekend I couldn't access the forums -  kept getting the message - Error - line 38 full.
Don't know what it was full of - it certainly wasn't posts. Maybe excuses?

I was away until Sunday afternoon.  Once I got online and saw the problem, I contacted Anthony and Jessica and let them know what I was seeing and I kept reporting when I'd check about every hour or two or so until it got fixed!

48 hours ago I noticed that someone was spamming the threads.
I reported them through the report to moderator link.
48 hours later the spam is still there and they didn't even acknowledge my notification, let alone act on it.  I really don't know why I continue to try with people who have given up, have no respect for their members, and don't give a damn about their own forum. I really, really am done with them. I was one of their most prolific posters for a long time, and the one time that I complained about something I got a whole load of attitude from one of their moderators.

Rude people, who have taken their members for granted for too long, and who have continually made promises that were broken. Not a recipe for success.  Is is a sad situation - I used to enjoy my time there.

I do have at least somewhat of an "in" with them.  From what I'm understanding, I don't know how much Anthony and Jessica are monitoring the LVA Message Boards.  This is where I further come in because when I have a little time to go online, I try to check things out -- and if I find bad stuff, I let them know.

So where on the site is this spamming that you are mentioning?  I will try to get this dealt with!

One of the spams was in Sports - a response to the last post. The others I can't remember. But if they are so rude as to not even respond to a post trying to help them, they deserve all the spam that they get. I really believe that they have given up, that they are not "ready" to launch their new improved forums, and are just waiting in the hope that people send in membership renewals.

Thanks for that heads-up!  I just went to check it out and I then immediately notified Anthony & Jessica about the situation.  As for the Sports section, I never look in there because I'm not that much into sports myself.  I did check out a message in the FFA section last night but didn't see anything there!  At 4:20 AM this morning, the Message Boards were fine, so I don't know when they went down (since I was offline for a while).

I do have their ear at least somewhat.  They previously named me a correspondent after other good information that I had provided them (as well as other good information for people here).

that link hasnt worked in years, literally years.  there used to be a sticky post on the first page with this information and a list of who to contact and how, to report posts to moderators.

Tonyrob, if you are going to work for them trouble shooting their site, they should give you a free MRB, and not one for 2013 either.

I actually do believe that they should. I was their most prolific poster - or close to it. I gave them a lot of show reviews, hotel reviews, restaurant reviews, trip reports. I consistently reported spammers, and "hate mail posts".  But the only single response that I ever received from them was when I dared to criticize them for their poor customer service. - everything else was ignored.
It is really sad that what set out as a good resource was finally destroyed by a negative attitude.

I wouldn't know where to start   I guess that the biggest problem is that a site that obviously needs a lot of help ignores that help when it is freely offered. Two weeks ago I advised them of a spammer who posted in 3 areas. They don't need to be told what the problem is now - I already told them but they did nothing about it.  A week ago, you asked what the issue was because you would tell them.  I couldn't remember 2 of the locations but one that I gave you was Las Vegas Sports - and you advised them. Here we are a week later and the spam is STILL there.  I am the moderator of a MUCH larger site than LVA, and I know that if we were being attacked by viruses, and a member went to the trouble to advise me about someone spamming the forums - I would put 2 and 2 together and think that there is a possibility - however slight - that a member just directed me to the possible source of viruses.  LVA - no - don't even say thanks for the tip - just ignored.  In the cesspool that they call Free for All it has been partially taken over by racist, sexist bigots. Their posts are so offensive that they would be immediately banned from any forum that is policed. LVA? Don't even say thanks for the tip - or we'll look into it - or anything - and the posts go on.    About a 2 months ago someone posted and said that they had ordered the 2013 book by mistake as they wouldn't be going to Vegas until 2014. They told him to pack up the 2013 book and mail it back.  I pointed out that the 2013 book would probably land in the recycling and that someone focused on customer service would have said don't worry - we'll mail you a 2014 book.  I got a response to that. It is priceless and should be enshrined in a gilded frame!  The response was. "He had to send it back -  because that's the rule"  For several years I have contributed - MUCH more than most - I have been on their side reporting offesnsive posts and spam - and have been absolutely and totally ignored.  How long can someone do that? I can tell you how long I can do that - I am done, done, done. They don't even have the damn courtesy to acknowledge my posts.

Others here have expressed the same sentiment, that the value of those forums were the members who posted.

The owners of the forum seemed to think their brand was what made the forum valuable, now the owners ask for your help.  The owners' attitude may be the real 'virus'

I slightly disagree with you.  Rather than "partially" I would say "mostly"

I post on a board where if half the racist bullshit existed, there would pay real life consequences.  I've seen people get beat up over shit they posted on the internet, I've seen sleuths use information to find people's workplaces and report posts made during 9-5 to their jobs, resulting in getting fired. Imagine some of the things you  have read, being read by someones manager at a job who's internet is being used to post that shit?   I have seen so many consequences it is just insane. 

But the LVA won't even remove it. 

I will never understand how anyone could look at that board and think that this is what they want potential new customers to see when they first check out the boards.  I don't know why they are all allowed to exist.  I don't know if all those morons even post on the paid side.  I bet not.  So why keep them there?  Who is it making happy?  I do not get it.
